Is there negative marking in UP TGT?
No. UP TGT has no negative marking, so attempt every question — an unanswered question scores the same as a wrong one (0). Accuracy still matters for cutoffs, but never leave blanks.

The UPSESSB written examination has 125 objective questions carrying 500 marks in total — 4 marks per question — to be attempted in 2 hours. The paper covers the teaching subject you applied for alongside General Awareness, English and Quantitative Aptitude.
Each question carries 4 marks, which is what makes 125 questions add up to the full 500-mark paper. Because a single question is worth four times what a mark is worth in most competitive exams, a handful of careless errors moves your rank far more than it would elsewhere.
