What is CTET?
CTET is the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. It assesses eligibility for candidates who intend to teach at the primary level (Classes I-V) or elementary level (Classes VI-VIII). Qualifying CTET is an eligibility criterion; it does not by itself guarantee recruitment or employment.
What is the CTET Paper I exam pattern?
Paper I is for candidates intending to teach Classes I-V. It has 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks in 150 minutes: Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Language I and Language II carry 30 questions each.
What is the CTET Paper II exam pattern?
Paper II is for candidates intending to teach Classes VI-VIII. It has 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks in 150 minutes: Child Development and Pedagogy (30), Language I (30), Language II (30), and either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science (60).
Is there negative marking in CTET?
No. The official CTET information bulletin states that each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking.
