Three objective papers worth 200 marks total: Paper I and Paper II (75 marks each) test the Subject Concerned, and Paper III (50 marks) tests General Studies of Rajasthan. Each carries 1/3rd negative marking.
Candidates typically need at least 36% in every individual paper and an overall aggregate of 40% to qualify for the interview, with allowances for category-based relaxations.
A Master's degree with at least 55% marks, plus NET (UGC/CSIR) or a valid SLET/SET from Rajasthan — Ph.D. holders under UGC regulations are exempt from NET. Age must be 21-40 years, with relaxations for reserved categories and women.
UGC Pay Level 10, ranging from ₹67,300 to ₹1,95,000 per month. During the 2-year probationer-trainee phase, salary is fixed at approximately ₹39,300 per month.
Candidates who clear all three papers and meet the qualifying criteria are called for an interview worth 24 marks, which decides the final merit along with the written score.
