Frequently Asked Questions

This is a departmental promotion examination rather than an open recruitment. It is restricted to serving Anganwadi Sevikas who hold a degree from a statutory university and have completed ten years of continuous regular service. The upper age limit is 50 years.

The paper is split into two groups of 50 questions each, with 45 minutes allotted per group — 100 questions across 90 minutes in total. It covers Marathi, English, General Knowledge, and ICDS schemes and Acts.

A dedicated section covers ICDS programmes, child development, nutrition and the relevant Acts. For serving Anganwadi Sevikas this is the most directly job-related part of the paper and typically the highest-scoring, since it overlaps with daily work rather than requiring fresh study.

Yes. Marathi grammar, vocabulary and comprehension form their own component alongside English. Fluency alone is not sufficient — the grammar and usage questions reward deliberate revision the way any language paper does.

Selection is based on the Departmental Promotion Examination result, followed by merit and verification of documents and service records. Since the candidate pool is limited to eligible serving Sevikas, the competition is narrower than in an open recruitment but the cut-off still depends on the year's vacancy count.
