The SBI Clerk Prelims is a 60-minute online exam with 100 questions. It consists of three sections: English Language (30 questions), Numerical Ability (35 questions), and Reasoning Ability (35 questions). Each section has a strict individual time limit of 20 minutes.
Yes, there is negative marking in both the Prelims and Mains stages of the SBI Clerk exam. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks (1/4th of the marks assigned to that question) will be deducted.
The Language Proficiency Test (LPT) is a mandatory test conducted after the Mains exam. It evaluates a candidate's reading, writing, speaking, and understanding skills in the local language of the state they applied for. Those who studied the local language in 10th or 12th grade and have proof (mark sheet/certificate) are exempted from LPT.
The SBI Clerk Mains exam has 190 questions for 200 marks, with a total duration of 2 hours 40 minutes. The sections are General/Financial Awareness (50 questions), General English (40 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (50 questions), and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude (50 questions).
A candidate must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Final-year students are also eligible to apply provisionally, provided they can produce proof of having passed the graduation exam by the date specified in the official notification.
