Overview

The RSCB Banking Assistant — also advertised as Clerk / Junior Assistant — is recruited through the Rajasthan Cooperative Recruitment Board (RCRB), which acts as the official recruiting arm for the Rajasthan State Cooperative Bank (RSCB) and the wider cooperative banking structure in Rajasthan. Unlike a national banking clerk exam, a substantial part of this paper is specific to Rajasthan and to cooperative law, which changes how preparation should be weighted.

Exam Pattern

• Single online objective examination: 200 questions, 200 marks, 120 minutes.
• No sectional time limits — the full paper is attempted in one continuous sitting.
• Marking: +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for an incorrect answer, 0 for unattempted.

• Reasoning: Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Inequalities, Series.
• General Knowledge of Rajasthan: History, Art & Culture, Geography, Polity, Economy and Current Affairs of Rajasthan.
• Computer Knowledge: Fundamentals, MS Office, Internet and networking basics, common abbreviations.
• Accountancy: Basic accounting principles, journal and ledger, final accounts, banking book-keeping.
• Cooperative Law: Rajasthan Cooperative Societies Act 2001, Rajasthan Cooperative Societies Rules 2003, and the cooperative structure of Rajasthan.

Marking Scheme

• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer. With a 200-question paper and no sectional lock, indiscriminate guessing across the sections you know least is the most common avoidable source of lost marks.

Preparation Strategy

1. Secure the Cooperative Law Section First: The Act, Rules and cooperative structure block is worth 30 marks from a closed, finite syllabus — unlike Quantitative Aptitude, it rewards straightforward reading and revision rather than speed. Locking this in early gives you a stable 15% of the paper.
2. Treat Rajasthan GK as a Second Anchor: Another 30 marks come from Rajasthan history, geography, polity, economy and current affairs. Build topic-wise notes by district and theme rather than reading generically, and revise them on a fixed weekly cycle.
3. Use the Absence of Sectional Timing Deliberately: Because all 200 questions share one 120-minute budget, plan a running order before you sit the paper — typically the knowledge-based sections first at high speed, leaving the bulk of remaining time for Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning sets.
4. Drill Data Interpretation Separately: DI appears across bar chart, line graph, pie chart and tabulation forms and is the slowest part of the Quantitative section. Practise each chart type as its own timed set so you can recognise and skip a low-yield set quickly in the real paper.
5. Do Not Skip Accountancy and Computer Knowledge: Together they carry 50 marks — a quarter of the paper — and are often neglected by candidates preparing from general banking material. Both are high-return because the question depth stays at fundamentals level.
6. Practise Full 200-Question Mocks Under One Clock: Sectional practice will not expose the pacing problem this format creates. Take complete papers end-to-end so you learn where your own time drains away, then adjust the running order from step 3.
