Technology and infrastructure

An honest account of how YourMockTest builds AI-assisted exam content and what it runs on today.

AI-powered exam generation

YourMockTest uses Microsoft Azure AI Foundry — running OpenAI-family models — for AI-assisted:

  • syllabus-aware question generation
  • in-test hints
  • AI result summaries and tutoring
  • performance insights

Source documents (syllabi and PDFs) are processed with Azure Document Intelligence before generation. Google's Gemini API is used separately, only for internal admin and editorial tooling that assists our team in authoring and reviewing question banks — it is not part of the live, student-facing AI path.

Production infrastructure

YourMockTest currently uses Google Cloud for production hosting and supporting infrastructure. Our AI capabilities use Azure AI Foundry, while Google Cloud provides the infrastructure used to run and scale the application.

Compute Engine

Runs the production application.

Cloud Storage

Stores question-paper and job data.

AI infrastructure

AI capabilities run on Microsoft Azure AI Foundry (OpenAI-family models) and Azure Document Intelligence. This is our current, live setup for AI Labs generation, in-test hints, AI result summaries, and analytics insights — not a future plan.

Why cloud infrastructure matters

YourMockTest is an AI-first assessment platform with workloads covering online examination delivery, AI-assisted content generation, content processing, user data, and performance analytics. As usage grows, we need scalable compute, storage, database infrastructure, and reliable application hosting.

Why Google Cloud

YourMockTest currently runs its production infrastructure on Google Cloud — the application, and question-paper and job data, all run on it today.

Why Azure

Azure AI Foundry already powers our live AI capabilities today — question generation, in-test hints, AI result summaries, and analytics insights all run on it, alongside Azure Document Intelligence for source-document processing.
