UP Super TET Complete Preparation Guide

What is Super TET?

Super TET (Super Teacher Eligibility Test) is the state-level competitive recruitment examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) for appointment as Primary Assistant Teachers (Sahayak Adhyapak) in government primary schools across Uttar Pradesh.

Unlike UPTET or CTET, which are qualifying eligibility tests, Super TET is a direct selection recruitment examination. Your performance in Super TET carries 60% weightage in the final selection merit list, making it the single most critical factor in securing a government teaching post in Uttar Pradesh.

Preparation Strategy

  1. Master the High-Weightage Sections First: Focus heavily on General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30 marks) and Languages (40 marks). Together, these account for 70 out of 150 marks. Revise monthly current affairs compilation for the last 12 months.
  2. Solidify Teaching Methodology and Psychology: Study Child Psychology, Teaching Skills, and Life Skills (40 marks combined). Revisit D.El.Ed/B.Ed foundation textbooks and previous year UP Assistant Teacher papers to understand question patterns.
  3. Practice Mathematics Daily: Allocate 45 minutes daily to primary and upper-primary level mathematics. Solve speed drills on percentages, profit & loss, ratio, and mensuration formulas.
  4. Target Scoring 115+ Marks: Because 60% of your Super TET written score feeds directly into your final merit index, aim for at least 115–120 out of 150 marks to guarantee selection in high-competition home districts.
  5. Take Regular Full-Length Mock Tests: Practise with timed, 150-minute simulated mock tests on YourMockTest. Analyse question-wise accuracy, eliminate negative timing traps, and improve your speed across all 10 subject sections.
