Overview
The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for 'Assistant Professor' and 'Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)' in Indian universities and colleges.
Exam Pattern
The exam consists of two papers, both conducted in a single three-hour session.
- Paper I: General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude (50 questions, 100 marks).
- Paper II: Subject-specific (based on the candidate's post-graduation subject) (100 questions, 200 marks).

- Unanswered: 0 Marks
Preparation Strategy
- Paper I is Scoring: Don't ignore Paper I. Strong performance here significantly boosts your chances of clearing the JRF cut-off.
- Previous Year Papers: Solve at least the last 5 years' papers to understand the trend of questions in your specific subject.
- Concept Mapping: For Paper II, create concise notes for every unit of the syllabus.
