"निकम्मे रहकर मनुष्यों की चिन्तन-शक्ति थक गई है। बिस्तरों और आसनों पर सोते सोते मन के घोड़े हर गये हैं। सारा जीवन-रस निचुड़ चुका है। स्वप्न पुराने हो चुके हैं। आजकल कविता में नयापन नहीं। उसमें पुराने जमाने की पुनरावृत्ति मात्र है। इस नकल में असल की पवित्रता का अभाव है। अब तो एक नये प्रकार का कलाकौशलपूर्ण संगीत साहित्य संसार में प्रचलित होने वाला है। यदि वह न प्रचलित हुआ तो मशीनों के पहियों के नीचे दबकर हमें मरा समझिये। यह नया साहित्य मज़दूरों के हृदय से निकलेगा। उन मज़दूरों के कंठ से यह नयी कविता निकलेगी जो अपने जीवन आनंद के साथ खेत की मेड़ों का, कपड़ों के धागों का, जूते के टांकों का, लकड़ी के रंगों का भेदभाव दूर करेंगे। नंगे सर और पाँव, धूल से पिटे हुए और कीचड़ से रंगे हुए वे बेजुबान कवि जब जंगल में लकड़ी काटेंगे तब लकड़ी काटने के शब्द इनके असभ्य स्वरों से मिश्रित होकर वायुयान पर चढ़ दसों दिशाओं ऐसा अद्भुत गान करेगा कि भविष्य के कलावन्तों के लिये वही ध्रुपद और मल्हार का काम देगा। कलारूपी धर्म की तभी वृद्धि होगी, तभी नए कवि पैदा होंगे, तभी नए औलियों का उद्भव होगा। परन्तु ये सब के सब मजदूरी के दूध से पलेंगे। शुद्धाचरण, सभ्यता और कविता आदि के फूल इन्हीं ऋषियों के उद्यान में प्रफुल्लित होंगे।"
