Therefore, the correct answer is Statement I is false but Statement II is true.

The correct answer is C, B, D, A.

Important PointsThe process of biomagnification (also known as bioamplification or biological magnification) refers to the increasing concentration of a substance, such as a toxic chemical, in the tissues of organisms at successively higher levels in a food chain. Here's an explanation for the sequence:

C. Bacteria:

• In a water body, the contamination begins at the lowest level of the food chain. Microorganisms, such as bacteria, are among the first to come into contact with the contaminants.

B. Zooplanktons:

• These tiny organisms feed on bacteria and algae, which may be contaminated.
• As they feed, they accumulate these contaminants in their bodies.

D. Fish:

• Fish then eat the zooplankton.
• Since each fish eats many zooplanktons, the contaminant concentration accumulates even further within their tissues.

Additional Information

A. Humans: Humans often stand at the top of this food chain. When humans eat the contaminated fish, they accumulate an even higher concentration of the toxins, leading to various health issues.

So, the correct sequence for biomagnification due to a contaminated water body is indeed: Bacteria, Zooplanktons, Fish, Humans (C, B, D, A). This sequence demonstrates how toxins can move up the food chain and become more concentrated in top predators.

The correct answer is Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

Important PointsAeration is a commonly used water treatment process where air is circulated through, mixed with or dissolved in water. The main purposes of aeration are:

• To increase the oxygen saturation of the water.
• This aids in the biological degradation of organic substances and prevents conditions that favor anaerobic bacteria.

To remove dissolved gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, hydrogen sulfide, and others.

• These gases, if not removed, can cause off-tastes and odors, corrosion problems, and can be harmful to health in high concentrations.

To remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

• These are organic chemicals that have a high vapor pressure at ordinary room temperature.
• Their high vapor pressure results from a low boiling point, which causes large numbers of molecules to evaporate or sublimate from the liquid or solid form of the compound and enter the surrounding air.
• So, among the options provided, aeration is used for the removal of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
• It's not typically used for the removal of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), hardness, or metals.
• These substances require other water treatment techniques for their removal.
• For instance, hardness is usually treated by ion exchange processes or lime softening, and metals can be removed by processes like precipitation, ion exchange, and membrane filtration.

The correct answer is Statement I is correct but Statement II is incorrect.

Important PointsStatement I: Air Quality Index (AQI) is used to report to the public an overall assessment of a given day's air quality.

• This statement is correct.
• The Air Quality Index (AQI) is a tool that provides information about the air quality on any given day.
• It's designed to help the public understand what local air quality is like and how it might affect their health.
• The AQI measures several pollutants, including particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), ozone (O3), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and carbon monoxide (CO).
• An AQI value of 100 generally corresponds to the national air quality standard for the pollutant. AQI values at or below 100 are generally thought of as satisfactory.

Statement II: Air Quality Index integrates air quality data for any two of the criteria pollutants into a single number that represents the air quality of an urban area.

• This statement is incorrect.
• The AQI does not only integrate the data of two pollutants, but rather it considers several pollutants (particulate matter, ground-level ozone, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon monoxide).
• The AQI then provides a single comprehensive index value for the overall air quality, not only for urban areas, but it can be used to represent air quality for any geographical area. The AQI value represents the highest value of the individual AQI measures for these pollutants.

So, the correct answer is that Statement I is correct but Statement II is incorrect.

Therefore, the correct answer is: A, B, and D only (Organic solar cell, Nanoparticle solar cell, and Plastic solar cell).

The correct answer is Rill erosion

Important PointsRill erosion occurs when surface water runoff, i.e., little rivulets of running water, concentrates and forms small yet well-defined channels.

• These channels are typically a few inches deep and are not big enough to be considered gullies.
• Rill erosion often starts on bare or sparsely vegetated areas where there is no plant cover to protect the soil from raindrop impact and slow the speed of flowing water.
• The force of the moving water detaches and transports soil particles along the path of flow. Over time, this process deepens and widens the small channels.
• Rill erosion is one of the intermediate stages of water erosion. It begins with raindrop or splash erosion (where raindrops dislodge and move soil particles), transitions to rill erosion as runoff concentrates, and may eventually develop into gully erosion if the process continues unchecked.
• It's worth noting that rill erosion can cause significant soil loss if not managed, leading to land degradation and decreased agricultural productivity.
• It can be mitigated by various soil conservation techniques, such as contour plowing, cover crops, and the establishment of grass waterways.

To find the approximate average number of females working in the night shift from all industries together, we first need to calculate the number of females working in the night shift in each industry.

1. IT industry:

   - Total workers = 12% of 80500 = 0.12 * 80500 = 9660

   - Female workers = 20% of 9660 = 0.20 * 9660 = 1932 2. Sports industry:

   - Total workers = 18% of 80500 = 0.18 * 80500 = 14490

   - Female workers = 20% of 14490 = 0.20 * 14490 = 2898 3. Call centre industry:

   - Total workers = 32% of 80500 = 0.32 * 80500 = 25760

   - Female workers = 45% of 25760 = 0.45 * 25760 = 11592 4. Sales industry:

   - Total workers = 8% of 80500 = 0.08 * 80500 = 6440

   - Female workers = 60% of 6440 = 0.60 * 6440 = 3864 5. Banking industry:

   - Total workers = 14% of 80500 = 0.14 * 80500 = 11270

   - Female workers = 40% of 11270 = 0.40 * 11270 = 4508 6. Chemicals industry:

   - Total workers = 16% of 80500 = 0.16 * 80500 = 12880

   - Female workers = 15% of 12880 = 0.15 * 12880 = 1932

Now we add up all the female workers across the industries:

Total female workers = 1932 + 2898 + 11592 + 3864 + 4508 + 1932 = 26726

The average number of females working in the night shift from all the industries together is then the total divided by the number of industries, which is 6:

Average female workers = Total female workers / 6 = 26726 / 6 ≈ 4454

So, the approximate average number of females working in the night shift from all the industries together is 4454.

First, let's calculate the total number of people working in the night shift in each industry:

1. IT industry: Total workers = 12% of 80500 = 0.12 ×  80500 = 9660

2. Sports industry: Total workers = 18% of 80500 = 0.18 × 80500 = 14490

3. Call centre industry: Total workers = 32% of 80500 = 0.32 × 80500 = 25760

4. Sales industry: Total workers = 8% of 80500 = 0.08 × 80500 = 6440

5. Banking industry: Total workers = 14% of 80500 = 0.14 × 80500 = 11270

6. Chemicals industry: Total workers = 16% of 80500 = 0.16 × 80500 = 12880

Now, let's calculate the number of female workers in each industry using the percentages provided:

1. IT industry: Female workers = 20% of 9660 = 0.20 × 9660 = 1932

2. Sports industry: Female workers = 20% of 14490 = 0.20 × 14490 = 2898

3. Call centre industry: Female workers = 45% of 25760 = 0.45 × 25760 = 11592

4. Sales industry: Female workers = 60% of 6440 = 0.60 × 6440 = 3864

5. Banking industry: Female workers = 40% of 11270 = 0.40 × 11270 = 4508

6. Chemicals industry: Female workers = 15% of 12880 = 0.15 × 12880 = 1932

The number of male workers in each industry is the total workers minus the female workers. Adding up all the male workers across the industries gives:

Total male workers = (9660 - 1932) + (14490 - 2898) + (25760 - 11592) + (6440 - 3864) + (11270 - 4508) + (12880 - 1932) = 7728 + 11592 + 14168 + 2576 + 6762 + 10948 = 53774

So, the total number of males working in the night shift from all the industries together is 53774.

The distribution (%) of people working in the night shift in the Sports industry is 18%, and among these, the distribution (%) of females is 20%.

So, let's calculate the total number of people working in the night shift in the Sports industry:

18% of 80500 = 0.18 × 80500 = 14490

The number of females in the Sports industry working the night shift is:

20% of 14490 = 0.20 × 14490 = 2898

Now, let's calculate the percentage of these females to the total number of people working in the night shift from all the industries together:

(2898 / 80500) × 100 = 3.6%

So, the number of females working in the night shift from the Sports industry is 3.6% of the total number of people working in the night shift from all the industries together.

As calculated previously, the total number of males working in the night shift from all industries together is 53774 and the total number of females working in the night shift from all industries together is 26726.

The difference between the total number of males and the total number of females is:

53774 (males) - 26726 (females) = 27048

So, the difference between the total number of males and the total number of females working in the night shift from all industries together is indeed 27048.

The distribution (%) of people working in the night shift in the Call Centre industry is 32%, and among these, the distribution (%) of females is 45%.

So, let's calculate the total number of people working in the night shift in the Call Centre industry:

32% of 80500 = 0.32 * 80500 = 25760

The number of females in the Call Centre industry working the night shift is:

45% of 25760 = 0.45 * 25760 = 11592

Therefore, the number of males in the Call Centre industry working the night shift would be the difference:

25760 - 11592 = 14168

The ratio of the number of males to the number of females working in the night shift from the Call Centre industry is:

14168 : 11592

This simplifies to approximately 11 : 9.

Therefore, the ratio of the number of males to the number of females working in the night shift from the Call Centre industry is 11 : 9.

However, Statement II is false, as mass media should not suppress facts and opinions but rather provide accurate and diverse information to facilitate informed decision-making.

The correct answer is Plateau.

Important PointsThe period of learning that shows no improvement in the learning curve is known as a "Plateau."

• A learning plateau is a phase where the learner seems to make little or no progress despite continuing to practice and learn.
• It's a common occurrence in many different learning contexts and can be a result of various factors, including lack of motivation, fatigue, lack of practice, or the limit of the individual's ability.
• It is often temporary and can be overcome with different strategies such as changing the learning method, resting, or setting new goals.

Key Points

• A learning plateau refers to a period during the learning process where there is a stagnation or decrease in the rate of learning, i.e., the learner is neither advancing nor regressing.
• The learning curve, which often starts steep as initial gains in learning are often rapid, tends to flatten out after a certain period of time.
• This is the point at which we say the learner has hit a 'plateau'.

There are several reasons why learning plateaus occur. Here are a few common ones:

Lack of Challenge:

• If the learning material or process is not adequately challenging, a learner may find it less engaging over time, leading to a slowdown or halt in progress.

Fatigue:

• Mental or physical exhaustion can also result in a learning plateau. The brain, like the body, can experience fatigue when it's overworked and needs time to rest and recover.

Limited Feedback:

• Feedback is a critical part of the learning process. Without proper feedback, learners may not understand their mistakes or how to correct them, leading to a plateau.

Mastery of Basics:

• After learning the basic skills or knowledge in a domain, further improvement may require learning more complex concepts or skills, which can be more difficult and time-consuming, leading to a plateau.

Skill Ceiling:

• Every individual has their own potential limit or 'skill ceiling'. Reaching this limit may result in a plateau if the learner is unable to push beyond their inherent capacity.

Overcoming a learning plateau often requires a change in strategy, more targeted practice, rest, or perhaps even seeking additional instruction or guidance.

• Different strategies work for different people and different situations, so it's often a matter of trying out different approaches to see what works best for the learner.

The correct answer is Both Statement I and Statement II are incorrect.

Important PointsStatement I: "Entry behavior implies the activities and responses of the learners after the completion of the teaching-learning process."

• This statement is incorrect.
• Entry behavior in educational psychology refers to the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that a student already has prior to instruction.
• This might include previous knowledge about the subject matter, basic academic skills like reading and writing, as well as attitudes or beliefs about learning.
• Entry behaviors provide a baseline for educators to plan instruction that meets the individual learner's needs and readiness levels.
• They do not refer to activities and responses that occur after the teaching-learning process has been completed.

Statement II: "Terminal behavior implies the activities of the learners prior to the teaching-learning process."

• This statement is also incorrect.
• Terminal behavior in educational contexts refers to the desired behavior, knowledge, or skills that the learner is expected to demonstrate at the end of a particular period of instruction.
• In other words, terminal behavior describes the specific learning outcomes or objectives that the instruction aims to achieve.
• It does not refer to activities that occur prior to the teaching-learning process. Instead, it concerns the anticipated results or outcomes of this process.

The correct answer is Inductive

Important PointsInductive research or reasoning is a bottom-up approach that begins with specific observations and measures, and then moves on to the formulation of broader theories or generalizations. It's a process of collecting raw data, often qualitative, to build up a theory.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of the process:

Observation:

• This is the starting point of inductive reasoning.
• The researcher begins by making observations about a phenomenon or phenomena of interest.
• This could be anything that has caught the researcher's attention or poses a problem or question the researcher wishes to answer.

Identify Patterns:

• Once a significant amount of data has been collected, the researcher will begin to identify patterns or regularities in the data.

Hypothesis Formation:

• Based on the patterns identified, the researcher forms a tentative explanation or hypothesis.
• The hypothesis should be capable of predicting future occurrences of the phenomenon.

Theory Development:

• Over time, and with the support of consistent evidence from multiple hypotheses and observations, a theory can be formulated.
• The theory is a more general explanation for the phenomenon, and should be able to predict not just known observations, but any future ones as well.
• As an example, a researcher might observe a specific classroom dynamic where students are more engaged in interactive activities than in traditional lecture-style teaching.
• They would gather more data to confirm this observation, form a hypothesis like "Students are more engaged when learning is interactive," and after testing this hypothesis in various settings, they could develop a broader theory about active learning methods and student engagement.

So, given the scenario in your question - where observation is followed by theory, hypotheses, and interpretation - the approach to research being used is "Inductive."

The correct answer is Zero correlation

Important PointsIf the dress of a person does not reflect or predict his voting behavior, then we can assume there is a "Zero correlation" between these two variables.

• In statistics, correlation refers to the degree to which two variables are related to each other.
• A positive correlation means that as one variable increases, the other also increases, while a negative correlation means that as one variable increases, the other decreases.

However, a zero correlation means that there is no relationship between the two variables.

• In other words, changes in one variable do not predict or correspond to changes in the other.
• So, if a person's dress (variable 1) does not predict or reflect their voting behavior (variable 2), it would mean that there is a zero correlation between these two variables.

Additional Information

Positive Correlation:

• This would mean that as one variable (e.g., a particular type of dress) increases, so does the other (e.g., a particular voting behavior).
• This is not the case according to the description provided.

Partial Correlation:

• This refers to the correlation between two variables while controlling for the effect of one or more other variables.
• It doesn't apply here since we are only considering two variables (dress and voting behavior).

Fragmented Correlation:

• This is not a standard term in statistics.
• It may be used in other contexts, but not in reference to the relationship between two variables.

The correct answer is Statement I is true but Statement II is false.

Important PointsStatement I: Survey research has the advantage of sampling a large number of respondents who are selected for research.

• This statement is true.
• Survey research is a commonly used method in social sciences, market research, and various other fields to gather data from a large number of respondents.
• Surveys allow researchers to collect information from a diverse sample of individuals, which can help provide a broader perspective on a particular topic or research question.
• By using appropriate sampling techniques, researchers can ensure that the respondents selected for the survey represent the target population they are interested in studying.

Statement II: Researchers, to administer their own surveys, do not have many options except to do it themselves.

• This statement is false.
• While researchers can choose to personally administer surveys, they have several other options available to them as well.
• Modern technology has expanded the range of survey administration methods beyond traditional face-to-face interviews.
• Researchers can utilize various modes of survey administration based on their research needs and the target population.

Additional Information

Online Surveys:

• Researchers can create web-based surveys using online platforms like Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, or Qualtrics.
• These platforms allow researchers to design and distribute surveys electronically, reaching a wide audience and collecting responses digitally.

Mail Surveys:

• Researchers can send paper-based questionnaires through postal mail to selected respondents.
• This method is suitable for studies targeting specific populations or areas with limited internet access.

Telephone Surveys:

• Researchers can conduct surveys over the phone by calling respondents and asking them questions.
• Telephone surveys are useful for gathering data quickly and can be conducted using random-digit dialing or by contacting specific phone number lists.

In-person Interviews:

• Researchers can personally administer surveys through face-to-face interviews.
• This method allows for detailed questioning and clarification but may be more time-consuming and limited in terms of the number of respondents.

Mixed Modes:

• Researchers can combine different survey administration methods to maximize response rates and reach a broader range of participants.
• For example, they can use a combination of online surveys and follow-up phone interviews.

In summary, researchers have various options available to administer surveys. They can choose the most appropriate method based on factors such as research objectives, target population, available resources, and desired sample size.

Given: 1, 5, 11, 19, 29, 41, 55, ?

Logic: Add alternate even number, starting from 4, to the previous term to get the next term.

Hence, the correct answer is "71".

The correct answer is Appeal to Ignorance

Important Points The logical fallacy committed in the given argument is an "Appeal to Ignorance."

• An appeal to ignorance occurs when someone argues that a proposition is true or false based on the absence of evidence to the contrary.
• In this case, the argument states that atheists have not proven that God does not exist, and therefore concludes that God must exist.
• This reasoning is fallacious because it assumes that the lack of evidence for the non-existence of God is equivalent to evidence for the existence of God.

However, the absence of evidence for a proposition does not automatically mean that the proposition is true.

• It is a logical fallacy to draw a positive conclusion solely based on a lack of evidence to the contrary.
• In this case, the argument fails to provide any positive evidence or logical reasoning for the existence of God and relies solely on the lack of evidence for the opposite position.

To form a valid argument, one would need to provide positive evidence or logical reasoning specifically supporting the existence of God, rather than relying on the absence of evidence for the opposing viewpoint.

The correct answer is Undistributed middle

Important PointsThe formal fallacy committed in the above argument is called "Undistributed Middle."

• The argument mistakenly assumes that if all professors are competent and no competent people are underpaid, then no professors can be underpaid.
• This reasoning is flawed because it incorrectly assumes that the middle term "competent people" is distributed across both premises.

The undistributed middle fallacy occurs when a middle term in a categorical syllogism is not distributed in either of the premises, leading to an invalid conclusion.

• In this case, the term "competent people" is the middle term, but it is not distributed (referenced in its entirety) in either premise.

To illustrate this:

Premise 1: All professors are competent. (Some competent people are professors)

Premise 2: No competent people are underpaid.

Conclusion:

No professors are underpaid. (Illogical leap)

• Since the term "competent people" is not distributed in either premise (only some competent people are professors in Premise 1), the conclusion that "no professors are underpaid" cannot be logically derived. It's a formal fallacy due to the undistributed middle term.

The correct answer is Sound is eternal, because it is produced.

Important Points According to the classical Indian school of Logic (Nyaya), the statement "Sound is eternal because it is produced" commits the fallacy of viruddha (contradiction).

• In Nyaya philosophy, the fallacy of viruddha occurs when there is an inherent contradiction within a statement or argument.
• In this case, the statement presents a contradiction between the concepts of "eternal" and "produced."

The term "eternal" implies that something exists without a beginning or end, transcending time.

• On the other hand, the term "produced" suggests that something has a starting point, implying a temporal origin or cause.
• Since the statement claims that sound is eternal because it is produced, it creates a contradiction.
• If sound is eternal, it would not have a temporal beginning or cause, as suggested by the term "produced.
• " Therefore, the statement violates the principle of non-contradiction and commits the fallacy of viruddha according to the classical Indian school of Logic (Nyaya).

The correct answer is 'Both Assertion A and Reason R are correct and R is the correct explanation of A.'

Key Points

• Assertion A states that 'In 2008, Europe was quite susceptible to the global financial crisis.' This is supported by the passage which mentions that the financial crisis hit Europe almost immediately.
• Reason R states that 'The global financial crisis immediately led to a major debt crisis in Europe.' This is the direct cause-effect relationship that shows why Europe was susceptible to the crisis, making it a correct explanation of Assertion A.

Therefore, the correct answer is Option 1.

The correct answer is 'A, B and C'.

Key Points

• The passage states that "If the debtors defaulted, trillions of dollars in loans on the books of northern European banks, investors and pension funds would go bad."
• It emphasizes that the default of debtors would risk not only banks but also investors and pension funds, as they all had exposure to these loans.
• This failure could have had a ripple effect on the broader economy, underscoring the interconnectedness of financial systems and economies.

Therefore, the correct answer is Option 4.

The correct answer is 'A, B and D Only'.

Key Points

• The passage mentions, "In Spain and Ireland, households had borrowed heavily to finance a major housing and construction boom."
• The excerpt does not explicitly state that Portugal also had high household borrowings, but it does indicate that "Portugal was somewhere in between; both households and the government had been borrowing heavily."
• It does not include Greece in the context of high household borrowing. Thus, Greece is not considered part of this answer.

Therefore, the correct answer is Option 4.

The correct answer is 'Both Statement I and Statement II are false.'

Key Points

• Statement I is contradicted by the passage, which explicitly mentions, "The weight of so many bad loans and investments endangered the very integrity of the financial systems of even the richest European countries, especially Germany and France."
• This makes it clear that the debt crisis did indeed affect the richest European countries, thereby proving Statement I false.
• Statement II is also contradicted by the passage which states, "The sovereign debt crisis threatened both the sovereign debtors and their creditors- and, in fact, the entire European economy."
• This shows that not only the debtors but also their creditors and the whole European economy were under threat, making Statement II false.

Therefore, the correct answer is Option 2.

The correct answer is 'B, D and E Only'.

Key Points

• The passage states, "The four principal Eurozone debtors were Greece, Ireland, Portugal, and Spain."
• These countries were the main debtors in the Eurozone in 2008.
• Germany and France are not listed among these debtors, so they are not included in the correct answer.
• These countries were hit by the financial crisis due to heavy borrowings and were unable to service their debt, creating the debt crisis in the Eurozone.

Therefore, the correct answer is Option 3.

The correct answer is Statement I is incorrect but Statement II is correct

Important Points

Statement I: GSAT-30 satellite is used by Swayamprabha for the Program telecasts on the DTH channels.

• GSAT-30 satellite being used by the Swayamprabha DTH channels for their program telecasts is not available.
• The Swayamprabha platform was known to use the GSAT-15 satellite to broadcast educational programs.
• However, satellite usage can be updated or modified beyond this time, so this information may not be current.

Statement II: The Programs of Swayamprabha are available on 24 × 7 basis.

• This statement is correct.
• The Swayamprabha DTH platform consists of 32 educational channels that operate round-the-clock.
• This was launched by the Indian Government to make quality education accessible to everyone, regardless of their geographical location or time constraints.
• These channels broadcast a range of educational content, from school education to higher education, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• The platform offers new content every day, and the same day's content is repeated the next day to ensure maximum accessibility.
• The content is also periodically updated to keep up with changes in educational syllabuses and requirements. So, the programs on the Swayamprabha channels are indeed available on a 24x7 basis.

The correct answer is A, C, B, E, D.

Important Points

Johann Friedrich Herbart, a German philosopher, psychologist, and founder of pedagogy as an academic discipline, proposed a five-step methodology for teaching and learning.

These steps, in their correct sequence, are:

Preparation:

• This step involves preparing the learner's mind to receive new knowledge.
• It is about creating a fertile ground for learning by relating new content to prior knowledge and experiences.

Presentation:

• In this step, new knowledge is presented to the learner.
• This could be in the form of a lecture, a demonstration, a text, a real-world problem, or a thought-provoking question.

Association:

• During this phase, learners are encouraged to connect new knowledge with what they already know, forming associations that help to embed the new knowledge into their mental frameworks.

Generalisation:

• This stage involves distilling a general principle or rule from the learning experience. It's about abstracting the key insights from specific examples or experiences.

Application: In the final stage, learners are encouraged to apply their new knowledge or skills to different contexts or situations. This helps to reinforce the learning and make it more robust.

So the correct sequence would be: A (Preparation), C (Presentation), B (Association), E (Generalisation), D (Application).

The correct answer is Archival research.

Important PointsThe type of research you're referring to - done to uncover behaviors and attitudes by analyzing existing records and other materials - is known as "Archival Research."

• Archival research involves the study of historical documents and records to find out information about past events, behaviors, attitudes, and so on.
• These records could be anything from newspapers, letters, diaries, photographs, legal documents, reports, government records, and so on.
• It's often used in fields like history, but can also be used in social sciences or humanities when the researcher wants to study trends, behaviors, and events of the past.

Unlike methods like surveys or experiments, archival research doesn't involve collecting new data; instead, it involves analyzing the data that already exists in various archives. This can provide valuable insights into the past and help inform our understanding of the present.

Additional InformationPast Research:

• This term isn't generally used to describe a specific research methodology, but it could refer to any research that was conducted in the past.
• It could also imply a review or analysis of past studies or literature on a particular topic. Such review can help to identify what has already been discovered and what gaps may exist that new research could address.

Non-observational Research:

• This type of research involves methods that do not rely on direct observation of a phenomenon.
• For instance, research based on existing data sets, surveys, interviews, and so forth, could be considered non-observational, as the researcher is not directly observing the subjects of the research.
• This is a broad category and could include a variety of research methodologies.

Non-participant Research:

• Non-participant research refers to a method where the researcher is not actively participating in the event or situation being studied.
• The researcher is an observer, not a participant.
• This method is often used in fields like anthropology or sociology, where researchers may study a culture or group of people without actively participating in their activities.

The correct answer A, B, C Only.

Important PointsA. It saves time:

• Web-based research can indeed save time.
• Data can be collected from a large number of participants simultaneously, and researchers do not have to spend time administering surveys or interviews in person.

B. The participant can engage in the task at his/her convenience:

• This is one of the main advantages of web-based research.
• Participants can complete online surveys or tasks at a time that suits them, making it more likely that they will take part and complete the task.

C. The data collection is automatic and accurate:

• With web-based research, data can be collected and recorded automatically.
• This reduces the potential for human error in data recording and makes the process more efficient.

Additional Information

D. It demands a small sample:

• This statement is not necessarily true.
• The sample size needed for a study depends on many factors, including the nature of the research question and the statistical analysis to be used.
• Web-based research actually often allows for larger sample sizes because it can reach more people more quickly than traditional research methods.

E. The participants are heavily paid:

• The compensation for participants in web-based research varies greatly and is not inherently high.
• It depends on many factors, including the research budget, the length and complexity of the task, and ethical considerations.

So, the correct answer would indeed be "A, B, C Only".

Given: A, B, C and D are all distinct individuals.

I. A is the daughter of B.

II. B is the son of C.

III. C is the Father of D.

Now, check options,

Option 1). C is the Uncle of A → False (According to the family tree, C is grand father of A)

Option 2). D and B are cousins → False (As per the family tree given above, D and B are siblings, not cousins)

Option 3). A is the daughter of D → False (As per the family tree, A is daughter of B, not D)

Option 4). If P is the daughter of B, then A and P are sisters. → True

Let's make the family tree accordingly,

So, it is clear from the above family tree, If P is the daughter of B, then A and P will be sisters.

Hence, the correct answer is "If P is the daughter of B, then A and P are sisters".

Given:

In a group of 2100 persons comprising of 14 players and 1 coach

Calculation:

Each team has 14 players and 1 coach, so total 15 members

Then in the group of 2100 persons total number of teams = 2100/15 = 140

Here, each team has 1 coach, so the total number of coaches is 140

∴ The correct answer is 140

Shortcut Trick

Karan is 12 years old.

Father's current age = 12 + 26 = 38 years.

Mother's current age = 38 − 6 = 32 years.

Karan was born 3 years after marriage → Marriage was 12 + 3 = 15 years ago.

Mother's age at marriage = 32 − 15 = 17 years.

∴ The correct answer is 17 years.

Alternate Method

Given:

Karan's current age = 12 years.

Father's age = Karan's age + 26 years.

Mother's age = Father's age − 6 years.

Calculations:

⇒ Father's current age = 12 + 26 = 38 years.

⇒ Mother's current age = 38 − 6 = 32 years.

⇒ Total years since marriage = Karan's age + Years after marriage Karan was born.

⇒ Total years since marriage = 12 + 3 = 15 years.

⇒ Mother's age at marriage = Current Age − Years since marriage.

⇒ Mother's age at marriage = 32 − 15 = 17 years.

∴ The correct answer is 17 years.

Additional Information

Age Difference Consistency

The difference between the ages of two people remains constant throughout their lives. If the father is 6 years older than the mother today, he was also 6 years older at the time of marriage.

Linear Equations in Ages

Age problems can be solved by setting a variable (usually x) for the present age and subtracting/adding for past or future scenarios (x − n or x + n).

Ratio of Ages

Unlike the age difference, the ratio of ages of two individuals changes every year as they grow older.

The correct answer is A, B, and C Only

Important PointsThe correct answer is A, B, and C Only.

**Statements A, B, and C are logically equivalent because they all express the same relationship between philosophers, underpaid scholars, and non-underpaid scholars. Let's examine each

Statement:

**

A. No philosophers are underpaid scholars:

• This statement asserts that there is no overlap between the category of philosophers and underpaid scholars.
• It implies that all philosophers are not underpaid scholars.

B. All Philosophers are non-underpaid scholars:

• This statement states that all philosophers fall within the category of non-underpaid scholars.
• It implies that there is no overlap between philosophers and underpaid scholars.

C. No underpaid scholars are philosophers:

• This statement states that there is no overlap between the category of underpaid scholars and philosophers.
• It implies that all underpaid scholars are not philosophers.

Additional Information

• These three statements convey the same logical relationship, expressing that philosophers and underpaid scholars do not overlap.
• However, statement D is not logically equivalent to the others because it makes a different assertion about non-underpaid scholars and non-philosophers, which is not directly related to the relationship between philosophers and underpaid scholars.

The correct answer is

Important PointsThe correct answer is A and C Only.

Statement A: "All bread is nutritious" - This statement asserts that every instance of bread is nutritious.

• For the statements to be true, every single piece of bread must be nutritious. If even one instance of bread is not nutritious, the statement would be false.
• Therefore, statement A cannot be both true and false together.

Statement C: "Some bread is not nutritious" -

This statement acknowledges that there exists at least one instance of bread that is not nutritious. If even one piece of bread is nutritious, then this statement would be false. Therefore, statement C cannot be both true and false together.

Additional InformationStatement B: "Some bread is nutritious" -

• This statement acknowledges that there exists at least one instance of bread that is nutritious.
• This statement can be true even if some bread is not nutritious. Therefore, it is possible for statement B to be true and false at the same time.

Statement D: "No bread is nutritious" -

• This statement asserts that there is no instance of bread that is nutritious.
• For the statements to be true, not a single piece of bread must be nutritious. If even one instance of bread is nutritious, the statement would be false. Therefore, statement D cannot be both true and false together.

In summary, statements A and C cannot be both true and false together, while statements B and D can have the possibility of being both true and false together.

The correct answer is A, B, C and D

The correct answer is Both Statement I and Statement II are false.

Important PointsStatement I: An Operating System controls peripherals and provides protection against viruses.

• This statement is false.
• While an operating system can provide some level of control over peripherals (devices connected to a computer, such as printers, scanners, etc.), it does not necessarily control all peripherals.
• Peripheral control can also involve specific device drivers or software applications.
• Regarding the second part of the statement, an operating system typically includes security measures to protect against viruses and other malicious software.
• However, it is not solely responsible for providing virus protection.
• Antivirus software is specifically designed to detect, prevent, and remove viruses, while an operating system provides a general security framework.

Statement II: In word processing and desktop publishing, the terms portrait and landscape refer to Page Layout.

• This statement is false. In word processing and desktop publishing, the terms "portrait" and "landscape" do not refer to page layout.
• They refer to the orientation of a page. A portrait orientation is taller than it is wide, resembling the orientation of a portrait painting or photograph.
• A landscape orientation is wider than it is tall, resembling the orientation of a landscape painting or photograph.
• Page layout, on the other hand, refers to the arrangement of content elements such as text, images, and graphics on a page, including factors like margins, columns, headers, footers, and other design elements.
• The orientation of a page (portrait or landscape) is just one aspect of the overall page layout.

The correct answer  is Statement I is false but Statement II is true.

Important PointsStatement I: ASCII, a character-encoding scheme, is an acronym for American Standard Code for Intelligent Information.

• This statement is false.
• The correct expansion of ASCII is "American Standard Code for Information Interchange.
• ASCII is a character-encoding scheme that was developed in the 1960s to standardize the representation of text in computers and other electronic devices.
• It uses a set of codes to represent characters such as letters, numbers, and symbols.

Statement II: (37.25)10 = (100101.01)2

• This statement is true.
• The given equation represents a conversion from decimal (base 10) to binary (base 2). To justify this, we can break down the conversion as follows:

The decimal number (37.25)10 can be represented as:

(37)10 + (0.25)10

The integer part, (37)10, can be converted to binary by successive division by 2:

37 ÷ 2 = 18 remainder 1

18 ÷ 2 = 9 remainder 0

9 ÷ 2 = 4 remainder 1

4 ÷ 2 = 2 remainder 0

2 ÷ 2 = 1 remainder 0

1 ÷ 2 = 0 remainder 1

Reading the remainders from bottom to top, we get (100101)2 as the binary representation of (37)10.

The fractional part, (0.25)10, can be converted to binary by successive multiplication by 2:

0.25 × 2 = 0.5 (0)

0.5 × 2 = 1.0 (1)

Reading the digits after the decimal point, we get (01)2 as the binary representation of (0.25)10.

Combining the integer and fractional parts, we get (100101.01)2 as the binary representation of (37.25)10.

Therefore, Statement II is justified and true.

Calculation:

Let's assume the initial number as x.

According to the given information, the student was supposed to divide half of the number by 5 and the other half by 3, and then add the two quantities.

Half of the number divided by 5: (x/2) / 5 = x/10

The other half of the number divided by 3: (x/2) / 3 = x/6

The student, however, divides the given number by 4, resulting in 5 less than the correct value:

⇒ (x/4) = (x/10) + (x/6) - 5

To simplify the equation, we'll find a common denominator:

⇒ (x/4) = (3x/30) + (5x/30) - 5

⇒ (x/4) = (8x/30) - 5

Multiplying both sides of the equation by 60 to eliminate the fractions:

⇒ 15x = 16x - 300

⇒ x = 300

Therefore, the initial number is 300.

So the answer is:300
